What to watch:
1) Deployment. One game isn't enough of a sample size to jump to final conclusions, but it will help us get an indication of how Coach X views his players coming in. Will Travis Zajac continue as the No. 1 center? Will Eric Gelinas play legitimate minutes on a nightly basis? These questions can begin to be answered tonight.
2) A new coach/system might help jumpstart the offense, but the Devils won't be an offensive juggernaut regardless of who is at the helm. That means Cory Schneider will need to be on his game to have a chance.
3) The Devils have struggled at full-strength for the better part of a few seasons now so special teams will be an important factor once again.
