Game notes:

- The Blue Jackets are absolutely battered with injuries and are playing in a back-to-back situation. The Devils need a quick start and to get a lead because Columbus hardly has the personnel to fight back.

- Ryan Johansen enters tonight's game on a 10-game point streak. It really is incredible when you think about it, considering he missed all of training camp and preseason.

- As depleted as Columbus' lineup is, the Devils can't afford to take a bunch of penalties as long as they're killing them off at a sub 70% rate.

- Bryce Salvador is the only regular without a point. Wonder how long that lasts...

- Cory Schneider has been far from perfect this year, but he's allowed two goals or less in three of the last four games and has helped the Devils pick up at least in those three games. He should have another good start against a tired/beat up Blue Jackets team.
