The Isles have begun to trim their roster after today's practice. Kyle Burroughs, Victor Crus Rydberg (VCR) and Connor Graham have been assigned to their respective junior clubs.
The Isles cannot rest on their laurels after sweeping the Senators in St. John's yesterday, just as they did the year before. They have to begin cutting down their roster as they can only carry 50 contracts.
There will be more cuts to come, and some of them may be painful for players and fans. And some names that were on that training camp roster may never see their name on an NHL list again.
That is why these pre-season exhibition games can be pretty chippy, and players can get hurt. You have so many players on each team trying to show coaches and GMs what they can do and that they will do anything to stick around. Tomorrow's game in Uniondale won't be any different.
