The last Saturday of October has arrived and eleven games of NHL hockey are ahead. A few teams have surprised in the early going, which of course goes in hand with a few teams that have come out the gates stumbling. Last year Philadelphia was one of the worst teams after October, but managed to be one of the best teams down the stretch.
For reasons like this, it’s important to not only stay strong and cheer for your team if they are blowing it; but for fantasy; to keep the player(s) you drafted to step it up as the season progresses. It’s often some of the younger players will excel at the start of the season and fizzle away as the season goes. Just be smart when you make trades or drop players to the free agency, remember that some players are habitually slow starters.
Today’s hockey begins with an early game at 4pm eastern between Buffalo and San Jose. Hopefully you took note and added Stalock in before the game started.
Starting Goalies:
(BUF) Neuvirth VS (SJ) Stalock (DET) Gustavsson VS (PHI) Emery (DAL) Lindback VS (NYI) Johnson (NJ) Clemmensen VS (OTT) Lehner (NYR) Lundqvist VS (MTL) Price (BOS) Rask VS (TOR) Bernier (CHI) Raanta VS (STL) Elliott (PIT) Fleury VS (NSH) Rinne (TBL) Nabokov VS (MIN) Kuemper (FLA) Luongo VS (ARI) Smith (WSH) Holtby VS (CLG) Ramo
There are a few players who are starting to get their game going after the first couple weeks. I would like to mention a few names I have noticed starting to pick up a few points in the last week that you should consider keeping an eye on. Maybe one or two of them will flourish as the season continues to progress; it’s up to you to add them at the right time…which of course is before someone else pulls the trigger.
Possible Free Agents to keep an eye on:
Forwards: Filip Forsberg Nick Foligno Davante Smith-Pelly Justin Abdelkader Brendan Gallagher Chris Kelly Carl Soderberg Joe Colborne
Defense: Damon Severson Anton Stralman Ryan Ellis Kris Russell Dennis Wideman Nick Leddy
If you have any fantasy questions about players to trade, pick-up, drop...whatever the case may be, don't hesitate to ask me in the comments section.
Enjoy today and tonight’s games and thanks again for reading!
