HBSL: You will notice the HockeyBuzz SuperLeague Fantasy banner has been removed from the main page. So to make sure your team has been entered; click on the ‘Fantasy’ button on the bar just below the Hockeybuzz logo on the main page. This will direct you to your team, and you can view who you’re playing against. You’ll be able to see how many points you have accumulated so far, and what players got how many points on what night. It will have a small calendar with your players on the left and the day of the week on the top. Check it out, it will show your opponents players for this week’s matchup as well.
When you are in the HBSL part of the website you will notice there is a ‘Standings’ button you can click on; if you do so it will tell you which Division you are in. It will show the rankings 1-20, you can scroll through there and see what other humorous team names you will be matching up against. If you click on the ‘Scoreboard’ button it will list the 10 matchups with the 20 teams in your division. You can get a feel of how good or bad your team is as the week goes on in here…I wouldn’t worry too much after 1 day, but you can at least get an idea of how things are going thus far!
Be sure that you update your team before puck drop every Monday. If you decide not to update your team, or perhaps you forgot…You will at least have in the same players as you did the week before. It’s certainly not ideal; but at least you will get some points as opposed to a blank roster.
Starting Goalies: It’s the first busy night in the NHL; with 12 games taking place, I have compiled a list of tonight’s starting goaltenders…
CBJ: Bobrovsky VS BUF: Enroth NJD: Schneider VS PHI: Mason (back to back) ANA: Gibson VS PIT: Fleury MTL: Tokarski VS WSH: Holtby BOS: Unknown VS DET: Howard FLA: Luongo VS TB: Bishop OTT: Anderson VS NSH: Rinne NYR: Lundqvist VS STL: Elliott CHI: Crawford VS DAL: Lehtonen COL: Varlamov VS MIN: Kuemper CLG: Ramo VS EDM: Scrivens WPG: Pavelec VS ARI: Smith
Notes: Last night Philadelphia faced Boston and lost 2-1. Mason played a great game and will be starting back to back tonight versus Schneider and the Devils. Boston on the other hand will be up against Detroit who begins their season at home; Howard will be hoping to get off to a better start to the 2014/15 season.
Montreal beat Toronto last night 4-3 in a battle to the finish. They play on the road again tonight versus a hungry Washington team. Tokarski may have his work cut out for him as Ovi and the boys hope to start the season at home with a win for their new coach Barry Trotz.
Calgary will be playing back to back games as well as they will be in Edmonton trying to avoid an 0-2 start to the season. Edmonton had a horrible start to last season, so expect them to come out of this home opener with the guns a blazing.
Enjoy tonight’s hockey and thanks again for reading.
