Ducks Comeback Again to Reach 50 Wins for First Time in Club History (Ducks)

I don't know how the Anaheim Ducks do it. How can they play possum for two periods and still win hockey games?

They fall behind 4-0 to the Winnipeg Jets and win 5-4.

They fall behind 2-0 to the woeful Edmonton Oilers and score three goals in the third period and win 3-2.

This is not exactly the way good hockey teams play. Heck this is not the way bad hockey teams play. Is it possible the Ducks are so confident in themselves that they believe no lead is too big?

I'm not sure how well this will translate in the playoffs but it will help them lock up their second consecutive Pacific Division crown.

They say "if it ain't broke don't fix it." I really doubt that's applicable here. Get it together Ducks or you may not even last seven games this Spring.

Corey Perry played a pivotal role in both comeback victories. His late goal forced overtime against the Jets and his pair of goals drew him team even with Edmonton. Then he assisted on Francois Beauchemin's game winning goal with 1:21 left in the game.

Perry now has 41 goals this season and  he's scored four times in the last three games. He might not hit 50, but 45 is doable with six game left in the regular season.

The comeback prevented former Ducks backstop Viktor Fasth from blanking the team that traded him away at the deadline. If he has won this game I would've chuckled quietly to myself. I still think dealing Fasth was a mistake, but I digress.

With the victory the Ducks reached 50 wins for the first time in club history. It only took 20 years to do so.

Sharks now trail the Ducks by three points in the standings with five games left to play. Anaheim has all but wrapped this thing up.....stay tuned.
