The Devils have brought back another old face, as the team has reportedly signed veteran defenseman Mark Fraser to an AHL contract.
Lou Lamoriello has always been loyal to his players and former players so giving another player that fits that bill another chance to resurrect his career is hardly a surprise.
The signing shouldn't be much of a surprise given Fraser is essentially the AHL's version of Bryce Salvador, who the team seems very high on for some reason.
Albany is 6-1-2 and some young defensemen like Reece Scarlett haven't played in a good chunk of games which makes this signing seem unnecessary, but, again, Lamoriello is a loyal guy so it makes sense from that perspective.
It'll be interesting to see how much Albany uses Fraser and if he's able to push his way up the lineup and, potentially, back to the NHL down the road.
