Devils Sign Graham Black to Entry-Level Contract (WHL)

The New Jersey Devils have signed one of their top forward prospects.

Today the Devils announced that forward Graham Black has put pen to paper and inked a three-year entry-level contract with the team.

Black, 21, had an excellent season in the WHL this year as an overage player. The speedy, two-way forward scored 34 goals and added 63 assists for 97 points in 69 games with the Swift Current Broncos. He then recorded four points in six playoff games before the Broncos were eliminated.

Black was a 5th round pick of the Devils in 2012, and will turn pro next season. He'll likely need a couple years of development in Albany to adjust to the pro game before getting a legitimate shot with New Jersey.
