Just days after reassigning six players to their respective junior teams, Lou Lamoriello and the Devils appear to have made their first order of real cuts.
The team has waived forwards Darcy Zajac, Scott Timmins, Mike Sislo, Joe Whitney and Tim Sestito, as well as defensemen Dan Kelly and Brandon Burlon, according to Renaud Lavoie.
The plan, obviously, is to have them all clear waivers and be sent to Albany, and that's likely how it'll play out.
The player(s) I see with the best chance to be claimed are Mike Sislo and Brandon Burlon, but my expectation is they will clear.
I don't think we'll have to wait much longer for the next order of cuts, and I think Cam Janssen and Mike Komisarek are safe bets to be in the next group.
