Devils Close to Signing Ben Thomson | Mattias Tedenby Heading to Europe? (NHL)

After signing Spitfires forward Ben Johnson to a three-year entry-level contract, the Devils look to be at it again, as they are also close to signing North Bay forward Ben Thomson an entry-level deal, per Tom Gulitti.

Thomson, 21, was traded to the Battalion midway through the season and seemed to take off after the trade, as he recorded 39 points in 43 regular season games. He followed that up with 14 points in 22 games during the Battalion's deep playoff run that fell a few wins short of an OHL championship.

Thomson is a big, two-way forward who can hit, skate well for his size and contribute in any situation. He'll turn pro next season, with the most likely destination being Albany.

TheFourthPeriod noted a report from Sweden suggesting there's interest in Mattias Tedenby from teams in the Swedish Elite League, as well as the KHL. Given how his career's progressed in New Jersey, it wouldn't be surprising to see him go back overseas.
