Dealing Forwards (Devils)

Training camp opens up in a little over a month, and at this point the Devils' forward situation is looking blurry.

The team currently has 14 forwards signed to one-way deals, have consistently expressed interest in bringing Ryan Carter back into the fold, and would like Reid Boucher and Stefan Matteau to have a chance at making the team.

Suffice to say, they have too many forwards, and one or two need to go. In this case it's a matter of when a move is made and not if.

The forwards I think are most likely to be moved are Michael Ryder and Damien Brunner. Those are two guys who struggled last year, but have offensive talent and could be worth taking a flyer on with both of them having just one year remaining on their contracts at affordable cap hits ($3.5M, and $2.5M respectively).

I'd throw Dainius Zubrus into that group, too, but he has two years left at a $3.1M cap hit, and carries a no-trade clause, so moving him could be difficult.

This will all sort itself out in due time, but in the middle of August there isn't much else to talk about.

If you were Lou Lamoriello, who would you move of the bunch, and which forward do you think is most likely to be dealt?
