Tonight the Coyotes (23-17-9) are in Calgary to take on the Flames (16-27-7).
These two teams last met earlier in the month and the Coyotes shutout Calgary 6-0. Tonight's game promises to be more competitive because the Flames surly will want revenge for that game and they are also in the midst of a seven game home losing streak - the longest in their franchise's history.
Calgary is one of the league's worst teams and the Coyotes should win this one, but in the NHL even the worst teams are still good enough to win on any given night. The Flames are rebuilding and Sean Monahan is their current cornerstone young player and probably the most interesting player to watch on their team.
The Flames have lost four in a row overall, and the Coyotes have beat them two out of three times so far this year. Last time they met Greiss recorded the shutout. Tonight would probably be a good night to play him, as Smith has started all of the most recent games, but you never know. As of now there is no info on who the goalie will be for the Coyotes, though it does look like Karri Ramo will go for the Flames.
It also seems that Marin Hanzal will miss his second consecutive game with the annoyingly ubiquitous "lower body injury," although this has yet to be confirmed. Tough loss for the Coyotes if he can't play because Hanzal is having a pretty good year and is a huge loss at center.;
More after the game.
