Sorry for the delayed response getting this posted. Last week was real busy. The survey was originally launched on Monday December 16 (so before the past 2 games). It would interesting to see if anyone's opinions have changed based on another start each for Ward and Peters.
Here are the results:
1) Put simply, which Canes goalie would you trade?
--54% Cam Ward
--4% Anton Khudobin
--35% Justin Peters
--8% None. I would keep all 3.
2) What do you think is most likely to happen to Cam Ward for the remainder of the season?
--27% He will ultimately regain his form and claim his rightful #1 goalie spot on the Canes and lead the team to the playoffs.
--19% He will ultimately claim the #1 goalie spot, but it will not yield a playoff return.
--35% He will muddle along at a pace similar to the current one and never really take back his job at least in a way that is playoff-meaningful.
--19% He will be traded.
3) Would you consider trading Cam Ward at all? --92% Yes --8% No 4) In terms of trading Cam Ward, what would it take?
--8% I would not even consider it.
--52% I would do it but only if I can get a fair return in the form of at least 1 top half of the roster player.
--40% I would do it for the best available offer as long as reasonable with the aim of clearing the way for Khudobin or Peters and gaining a bunch of salary cap flexibility.
5) Who finishes the season as the Canes #1 goalie?
--42% Cam Ward
--16% Anton Khudobin
--42% Justin Peters
