Wednesday afternoon it was announced that the New Jersey Devils had recalled Cam Janssen.
The move was undoubtedly made to jump start the offense and it worked flawlessly as Janssen was able to accomplish something the Devils didn't do in two games prior, or that Claude Giroux hasn't done all season: score a goal.
Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello spoke to the media about recalling Janssen and mentioned that he'd bring an element to the team that they didn't already have. Many assumed he was referring to toughness, but it turns out Lamoriello was talking about goal scoring ability all along.
Martin Brodeur stopped all 22 shots he faced while Adam Henrique and Jaromir Jagr (point #1,699) scored to sandwich what was Janssen's 4th career goal.
CamJAM didn't just bring the offense on this night, though, as the chart below illustrates.
Janssen and the Devils are back in action Friday night when they take on David Clarkson and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
