The Buffalo Sabres announced this morning what many have expected since the Olympic break. Coach Ted Nolan has had the interim tag removed and has agreed to a multi-year contract extension.
This is a very popular move with Sabres fans, who have not had a lot to be happy about in a year of transition with Steve Ott, Thomas Vanek and Ryan Miller leaving town and a full organizational reset underway with new GM Tim Murray.
Buffalo has a number of quality young players already in their system and will be adding many more over the next two seasons with the potential of two top-five picks at the NHL Draft in Philadelphia this June and a realistic chance of being able to get prize prospect Connor McDavid in 2015.
