Bruins Sign Smith/Krug to 1 Year Deals;Stuart Signs With Avs (NHL Podcast)

Bruins.nhl.com:

BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, September 29, that the club has signed defenseman Torey Krug and forward Reilly Smith to one-year contracts through the 2014-15 season, each worth an annual cap figure of $1.4 million.

It is obvious these players took serious discounts to stay with the Bruins and keep this team together. Now the question of whether or not the Bruins have to make a deal gets murky with Savard's money coming off and the Bruins getting BOTH these players for UNDER 3.

Not a great thing for the Ryan Johansen crew....

Update 11am: According to TSN the Avalanche have signed Brad Stuart to a 2 year $7.2M deal.

Also please join me in welcoming our new Ottawa Senators writer, Jared Crozier. His first post appears below my space.
