The New Jersey Devils released their development camp roster on Sunday in advance of its beginning today, and surprisingly there were three Brodeurs listed.
Anthony Brodeur, a 7th round selection of the Devils in 2013, was expected to be in camp. The surprise was that his twin brothers Jeremy and William will also be at this year's development camp.
Jeremy, like Anthony and Martin, is a goaltender. He's set to play for the OHL's Oshawa Generals in 2014. William is a forward who's known more for his offensive contributions, and he should be able to hold his own.
That they're at camp isn't a surprise because of a lack of talent or anything along those lines, but rather they're not draft eligible until 2015.
Maybe I've been blind on a couple occasions, but I don't recall ever seeing players who's draft year hasn't passed attending development camps.
I'm sure Lou Lamoriello wouldn't have done it if it'd cause a problem, and the experience will certainly be beneficial for Jeremy and William, so good on them for attending.
Depending how their 2014-15 campaigns go, it wouldn't surprise me to see one or both of the Brodeur twins at Devils development camp next summer as members of the organization.
