The New York Islanders have announced that forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard has been placed on waivers. Once Bouchard clears waivers he will likely report to the Islanders AHL affiliate in Bridgeport. It is expected that once he clears the Islanders will recall Ryan Strome and he will join the team in San Jose for their game against the Sharks on Tuesday.
Strome has certainly earned this promotion. In 23 games with the Sound Tigers; Strome leads the league in points with 9 goals and 23 assists. Strome was also named AHL rookie of the month for November and was AHL player of the week two weeks ago. It will be interesting to see if he plays wing or his natural position at center. In Bridgeport he has played every game this season as the team's first line center.
In my opinion I would give theses lines a look for a couple of games. Shoot; at this point can it really hurt?
