What might have looked like in September like an easier first stop on the annual Circus Trip shouldn't now—the Flames are no pushovers for a Hawk team that's been a little more up than down so far this season, but not so much as to make anyone in Blackhawk Nation comfortable.
The Hawks lost rookie defenseman (and a solid contributor thus far) Trevor van Riemsdyk to a broken kneecap a couple of days ago. This will mean increased ice time for Michal Rozsival and David Rundblad.
Andrew Shaw is a late scratch for Chicago (upper body injury).
The Hawks have been scoring more of late and a suspect Calgary penalty kill could throw gas on that fire.
