Beau Bennett is hurt again. Previously Bennett has been sidelined due to his brittle wrist bones, but this time was a complete fluke that could have happened to anybody. Bennett was clipped by Kasperi Kapanen's skate on his heel and he crumpled to the ground. The notoriously awful Consol Energy Center ice may have had a supporting role in the latest setback for Bennett. Bennett may have caught his skate in a rut as he was clipped.
Beau is going to be ridiculed by some for being hurt again, but I won't be one of them. This was a fluke and had nothing to do with who the player was. Jordan Staal was an ironman when he was clipped by PK Subban, sometimes things happen you have no control over.
Nobody feels worse about the injury than Bennett himself.
Good time to break the Twitter hiatus, haven't had the best luck and no one is more mad/sad than me. It's getting embarrassing, I'm sorry.

Bennett will miss the start of the regular season
Coach Johnston: "Beau is going to be 6 weeks, it looks like. It's one of those unfortunate things... It's a lower body injury."

Johnston says Bennett will not require any sort of surgical procedure.

All in all, it could have been worse given how things looked yesterday. A six week timeframe shouldn't change the Penguins game plan as far as any potential trades are concerned.
It stinks to see a guy work hard and never be rewarded, but Bennett can still have a really good season and I expect him to.

More from the bad news department Sidney Crosby's grandmother passed away and he will not be with the team today.
Coach Johnston on Sidney Crosby: "He's expected to be here tomorrow, and then play on Monday."
