Can the Avalanche do it? Can they win at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., tonight for their first two-game winning streak of the season? They'll face a Devils team that played Friday in Washington, where goalie Cory Schneider made 30 saves in a 1-0 win.

Schneider is expected to make his 18th consecutive start tonight, one short of Martin Brodeur's franchise record. Brodeur started the first 19 Devils games in 2001-02.
Semyon Varlamov will start in goal for the Avalanche, who are coming off a 4-3 shootout win against the New York Rangers on Thursday after losing the first two games of the four-game trip.
The Avalanche certainly could use some production from Jarome Iginla, Gabriel Landeskog and Ryan O'Reilly. Iginla has two assists in the past 10 games since scoring his only two goals of the season Oct. 24 against Vancouver. Landeskog has two assists and is minus-7 in the past eight games and O'Reilly has two assists in the past six games.
The Avalanche had gone 0-for-19 on power plays before Nathan MacKinnon scored the tying goal with the man advantage in the third period Thursday.
The Avalanche will use the same lineup they did against the Rangers before heading to Denver for a two-game homestand against Washington and Carolina. They'll play five of the next six games at home.

Stefan Elliott has four goals and five assists in 13 games and Duncan Siemens has two assists and 11 penalty minutes in 12 games. Joey Hishon has two goals and two assists in 11 games.
