I wasn't quite sure whether or not to believe the news when Art Staple retweeted Christopher Cameron who announced that ex NY Islander Jon Sim had signed a PTO for 25 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
WHAT? Yep.

When Sim was sent down to Bridgeport, he was very professional about it and worked hard and helped the younger prospects, but when it looked like he was staying down in the minors, he bolted for Europe. It came as a bit of a surprise to me, but it didn't seem to surprise Garth Snow. At the time I asked him about it. He said he understood that Sim just needed to do what was right for his family.
But what surprised me was reading that it was the Islanders that reached out to Sim. What is going on???
Brian Strait has been placed on IR retroactive to Oct 24th. And there is no word on when (or if) Lubo Visnovsky will be returning to the line-up. I'm starting to worry this is like a Crosby type of situation.)
So, life in Islander Country remains interesting -- to say the least.
