The 2015 NHL Entry Draft gets underway tonight and there should be no shortage of activity league wide.
Among the teams with the potential to make some noise are the Calgary Flames.
It's been well documented that they're considering changes in goal and it appears they've circled back to the New York Rangers in pursuit of Cam Talbot.
With Lehner to Buffalo, things heat up on Talbot. Oilers and Sharks still keen. Calgary also revisiting Talbot trade this morning.
— Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) June 26, 2015It looked like they were out of the running a few days ago but, as mentioned in the tweet, GM Brad Treliving may have had a change of heart and is revisiting the possibility.
On top of potential changes in goal the Flames have been listed as a possible destination for a guy like Milan Lucic, David Backes or Bryan Bickell - all of whom could be in play - over the last few days.
The Flames also own nine draft picks - including three 2nd rounders and two 3rd rounders - so it's entirely possible they could look to parlay those into another 1st round pick if someone they're high on starts to fall.
The highest of those nine picks is 15th overall. It sounds as if the Flames will stand pat at 15 and take the best player on their board. Some possibilities there include Ottawa's Travis Konecny and Kelowna's Nick Merkley, among others.
There have been no shortage of rumors surrounding the Flames of late so it'll be interesting to see which come to fruition and which don't.
This should be a fun weekend.
