The Blue Jackets will be without Brandon Saad, Jack Johnson and Sergei Bobrovsky tonight when they take on the Detroit Red Wings.
Bobrovsky has been out the longest of the trio, missing the last 18 games with a groin injury. Bob has been practicing with the team and is getting close to a return though no official date has been set.

Reading between the lines it looks like Bob will be back this season. When that happens, Joonas Korpisalo will be unfortunately sent down. I don’t see the team waiving Curtis McElhinney at this point in the season.

The only way Johnson should play again this season is if he’s 110%. The season is lost, there is no reason to rush back and risk re-injuring yourself or doing further damage. The team also isn’t desperate for a defenseman right now. Cody Goloubef has received a chance to play, plus they have Michael Paliotta in Lake Erie who in my opinion deserves a shot.
As I mentioned in the thread yesterday, Brandon Saad missed practice and remains day to day. The team is keeping this whole thing pretty quiet, but actions speak louder than words. Jarmo Kekalainen has said that the team will not be calling anyone up to replace Saad.

That to me makes it seem like this will be a short term injury. That or the team really doesn’t want to bring Kerby Rychel back up.
