The San Jose Sharks blanked the New Jersey Devils 4-0 on Monday night in what head coach Pete Deboer called his teams' "best game" of the season.
The win snapped the Sharks three-game losing streak and improved their home record to 5-2.
Chris Tierney, Patrick Marleau, Logan Couture and Brent Burns each scored a goal in the win, while Martin Jones made 26 saves to record his second shutout of the young season.
New Jersey ended its California road trip with losses to all three Golden State hockey clubs.
Twelve of the Sharks first 19 games have been on the road and its has shown in their play, especially offensively. San Jose ranks 26th in the league in offense. The Sharks get to enjoy some time in their own beds with the welcomed arrival of a five-game home stand which began with New Jersey.
Seven of San Jose's next nine games will be at the Tank. That's something for all of us to be thankful for.
With the win, the Sharks pulled into a three-way tie with Los Angeles and Anaheim for second place in the Pacific Division. All three teams have 21 points and trail Edmonton by just two points for the division lead.
It's time to make a move with games against the Kings and Ducks (x2) on the upcoming schedule.

According to various reports from those in the know, the two sides are very close. Nothing is done, but it seems like a forgone conclusion that it will be very soon.
Burns is in the final year of his current five-year deal worth $28.8 million. He is expected to get a big boy raise in his new deal.
This is great news for the Sharks and their fans. Burns is the catalyst for all things offensive for San Jose. Last season he finished with 75 points (27g 48a) and was a Norris Trophy finalist.
This season he leads the Sharks in goals (7) and is second in points (16) behing captain Joe Pavelski.
