Update: Hudler, Carrick, Trades, Etc. (Maple Leafs)

Heard from my top source on several topics related to yesterday's activity and this morning's blog.

IS BOWMAN DONE? NO.

The GM is patiently exploring/waiting out several options. Source: "There is a long time until camp, and this team will be different than it looks today."

CRAWFORD

"Barring a miracle, Crawford will NOT be moved this year."

LEFT WING NEED

(As reported here several weeks ago) "Hawks will make a serious pitch for Vesey. Another name they have interest in is Jiri Hudler—they are waiting to see if he would be willing to take a 1 year deal (not likely with other teams like Buffalo and Toronto interested)."

"The TVR for Moore deal was a backup plan if Chicago could not get Campbell done." So not happening. But Bowman "has the flexibility to make some minor trades depending on the opportunities that present themselves."

I am fairly certain that means dealing from the blue line (again, think TVR, Svedberg, Pokka, Gustafsson)

CARRICK

"Hawks are very intrigued by an under the radar signing of Sam Carrick. He is feisty, hard nosed, and does have some ability. He didn't blossom in Toronto, but Toronto is weak in player development. He reminds the Hawks of an unrefined Shaw, and will be given a long look at camp."

SHIPACHYOV

"Hawks are also closely monitoring the situation of Vadim Shipachyov as well."

More as I hear it.
