Unhand me Satan: Coyotes Lose to Devils (Domi)

I don't know if you guys usually watch your televised hockey while it's live or if you like to tape delay it, but I almost never watch live because the use of a fast-forward button means that I can watch a game in a hour instead of three.

The draw back is that if you do this you have to stay off your hockey pool app so that you don't ruin the surprise of who is going to win. The other draw back is that you might be an idiot who has trouble properly working his cable box and thus miss the game.

Then again, some would say that subconsciously I screwed it up accidently-on-purpose to avoid having to watch the Coyotes play the Devils, which I imagine is the NHL equivalent of accidentally hearing a Maroon 5 song. By which I mean you could probably bear it out if you had to, but most people are not going to understand why you'd bother and you might get made fun of.

Here is what I do know: The Coyotes lost 3-2 in OT to the Devils, got a single point (hurray!) and Duclair scored again, on his only shot of the game.

Even though I missed the game, there is a lot of interesting stuff to glean from the box score, for example:

At 5v5 Domi and Duclair only skated together for 12 seconds, despite seeming to have great chemistry together. I guess Tippett is concerned about two rookies on the same line, but I don't think he should be. What's the worse that could happen?

It couldn't be any worse than what did happen: the line of Boedker, Domi and Richardson (at first line C????) had a sweet 20% Corsi for the night.

What else? Murphy and Gorssmann continue to be the best duo so far....according to the Corsi....but OEL did play 28 mins... and it looks like Tippett went back to Stone with OEL, which is good because I like to see him up there and Dahlbeck-Stone don't seem to do well at all.

Concerning to me is that the Devils are one of, if not the weakest offensive team in hockey and they out-shot the Coyotes, who seem to be a terrible possession team so far. The Coyotes also allowed their fourth short-handed goal against of the season, which would be hard to even do on purpose in just six games.

Overall, you hate to lose to the Devils, because there aren't many other teams the Coyotes can consider peers at this time. Sorry for the weak recap, I'll attempt to master the use of technology one of these days. But, as for now, the sundial is pointing straight up so that means my lunch-break is over and I have to log off.

Good times!
