So it is pretty much the slowest week of the year in the hockey world with all the major players nestled in shore houses in the States or Cottages in Canada until Tuesday when all hell will break loose upon their return...
So I though I would give my thoughts (and ask for your thoughts) on the Flyers 50th Anniversary jersey they unveiled yesterday.
I am a lifelong Flyers fan, so of course I was skeptical and ready to tear into any break from tradition, but I like this one. It feels unique and commemorative. I think the Gold trimming gives it a classy vibe while the shoulder orange gives it a bit more of a retro look. I wouldn't want this to be their new all-the-time jersey, but it's classy.
I grew up in a time when white jerseys meant home jerseys so I was very opposed to teams going dark at home for a long time...now I like dark at home because it gives more variety to a team at home. And it is somewhat of a big deal to me to be admitting I don't want to go back to white at home. Stubborn as I can be.
I give these jerseys a solid 8 out of 10.
What are your thoughts/ratings of the Flyers 50th Anniversary Jersey?
