The Final Countdown....... + You'll Never Guess Who's Out for the Season (Coyotes)

The Coyotes play the Predators tonight in the season's 81st game. For those still paying attention, that means just one more to go until we can do our usual Playoff hibernation.

The Coyotes, with two wins in their final two games, can finish with as much as 81 points and as high as 20th in the NHL. The lowest they could finish is 25th if Winnipeg passes them.

This is a very disappointing turn of events because the team would need the Jets to win both their final games in order for them to have a reasonable chance at a top five selection.

The Coyotes have weak NHL defense and an even weaker prospect system, so getting a potential top line dman would be a great thing for the team.

Personally, I would have intentionally tanked the season to get a higher pick, but I know not everyone approves of such tactics. Then again, a look at the Coyotes roster doesn't rule out that they tried to do this but just got lucky/unlucky by winning a crapload of games they really shouldn't have.

Anyways, it's always fun when the Predators play the Coyotes because you get to watch Forsberg, Neal, Weber, Josi and Ekholm. There really just isn't that much else to say about game 81 when you've been eliminated.

Anyways, sorry for the short blog, Dinner's ready!!

Hazza!
