Follow @james_tanner123 The Coyotes will visit the Minnesota Wild tonight, and, win or lose, you are sure to see some horrible puns about what a "Wild" game it was, which, pretty much makes the Wild the worst named team my 100 miles.
The should-be-called North Stars will be featuring ex-Coyotes-for-a-minute Devan Dubnyk. The Coyotes will counter with my boy Domingue.
Excitement will be had by all.
One assumes.
While some people will sadly kill all fun for themselves by adopting a cynical attitude towards anything old that is brought back (like those jerks who wouldn't even give the time of day to the new Pixies record) I for one am just 100% psyched.
How can a grown man be so excited about television? I don't want to know, honestly. That level of introspection is sure to be a fool's errand.
So, I don't even know if my review should have any credence, as I am best described as a fanatical X Files maniac, but I give it 10/10.
It was amazing. Mulder and Scully and the Skin-Man are three of the best actors/characters ever to exist and the show was just everything a super-fan like me could expect.
The Conspiracy outlined was beyond fantastic, and easily answered the question I had about if a show like this could exist in a world where everyone has 100% full-time access to the crazy world of internet conspiracies.
Only better.
My problem with the 2008 movie was how in the hell do Mulder and Scully concentrate on anything else when they know the earth is being colonized by black-oil bearing alien-human hybrids and their human Syndicate which may or may not have featured traitors and a rebel faction + clones....CLONES!!! .....not to mention no one ever mentioned what happened to Doggett or Monica or how Mulder's brain tumor went away or where he went when he ran away or ........
Well, the old Chris Carter is gonna have to ret-con the sh___ out of this baby to make it make any sense (which is why network TV generally sucks: Too many writers working on too many shows), so why not just make the conspiracy a conspiracy?
But then again, maybe he doesn't have to: The show's 'monster of the week' style always made continuity a strange thing on the X Files, so really, who even cares?
Over like 250 episodes the show always pretty much dared you to try to make sense of it, and yet, it was always great. Even season 9 was great, I don't care what anyone says.
So......I am a huge nerd. I really, really, really wanted to like last night's episode and instead, I loved it. It was ten times better than it had any right to be.
I cannot wait to watch more.
