Playing their final game of the 2014-15 season, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars (40-31-10) host Peter Laviolette's Nashville Predators (47-24-10) on Saturday night at the American Airlines center at 7:00 p.m. CDT. The game will be televised on TXA-21.
This is the fifth and final meeting of the season series, and the second game in Dallas. The Stars are 1-2-1 in the season series, with the lone win (4-3 in regulation) coming on April 4.
The Stars played strong hockey down the stretch run of the season, going 13-5-0 in the last 18 games. It was simply too late to make a serious push at a playoff spot. On Thursday night, the Stars blanked the host Anaheim Ducks, 4-0.
Veteran defenseman Alex Goligoski (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday's game. Top line center Tyler Seguin also did not practice on Friday. Per Stars Inside Edge, Seguin arrived late for practice and was held out.
The playoff-bound Predators enter the finale coming off a 4-2 loss to Minnesota on Thursday. Nashville will play either Chicago or the Wild in the Western Conference Quarterfinal and holds the home-ice advantage.
Former Stars forward Eric Nystrom (lower body) is out of the lineup for the Preds. Mike Fisher (lower body), Cody Franson (upper body) and Calle Jarnkrok (illness) are listed as questionable for Saturday's game.
