MINI-PREVIEW: STARS VS. HURRICANES
Leading the NHL's President's Trophy race, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars (20-5-2) play host to Bill Peters' Carolina Hurricanes (10-13-4) on Tuesday night. Game time at the American Airlines Center is 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.
This is the second and final meeting of the season between the inter-conference teams. On Nov. 6, the Stars skated off with a 4-1 win in Raleigh.
The Stars, who have accumulated points in nine of the last 10 games (7-1-2) last played on Friday as they concluded a four-game road trip with a 2-1 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers. After this game, Dallas has two nights off before hosting the Philadelphia Flyers.
Sporting a 4-4-2 record over the last 10 games, Carolina is in the final game of a 3-in-4 and 4-in-6 scheduling gauntlet. The team is coming off back-to-back wins, as they upset the visiting Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in regulation on Friday and then edged the Arizona Coyotes by a 5-4 regulation score the next night.
