After compiling a 3-4-1 record in October, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars return to action on Tuesday to take on John Tortorella's Columbus Blue Jackets (3-3-1). Game time at Nationwide Arena is 6:00 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.
This is the second and final game of the season series between the teams this season. The Blue Jackets shut out the Stars, 3-0, at the American Airlines Center on Oct. 22.
The Stars have dropped four of their last five games. They enter this game coming off a 4-0 road shutout loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. A first period shorthanded goal stood up until the Wild blew the game open in the final stanza.
On Monday, the Stars learned that Ales Hemsky will be out until until March or April as he recuperates from labrum surgery on his hip. Patrick Sharp (concussion), Cody Eakin (knee) and Mattias Janmark (knee) remain on injured reserve.
Columbus is coming off a 4-0 shutout road win in Anaheim on Friday, as former Vezina Trophy winner Bobrovsky posted a 35-save shutout. Brandon Saad and Sam Gagner provided the offense with two goals apiece. Ryan Murray (upper-body injury) is expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday.
