We can all be assured the rumors will continue until Stamkos has either been signed by Tampa or has become a free agent. But the most recent Calgary rumors are far more speculation than smoke....in fact a source hinted to me this morning that there may be some very quiet backroom talk right now going on towards Stamkos signing an extension....and ending any distraction.
On last Friday's HockeybuzzCast we had Eric Duhatchek on, and he really didn't see any possible outcome that would lead to Steven Stamkos in Calgary. Anything is possible of course, but a trade right now looks like the last of the possibilities. Stamkos likes it in Tampa and sees Tampa as a team very much in the running for the Stanley Cup.
