Hey all.

I am live blogging from the Wells Fargo Center as the Ottawa Senators try and secure a playoff spot. The dynamic in the building is of course subdued, but the playoff implications for the rest of the conference are incredibly dynamic...and in a DEFINITE first in Flyers history Penguins and Bruins fans are pulling hard for the Orange and Black. By the end of this game the Flyers will have either helped out their arch rivals or become all the more hated for NOT defeating the Ottawa Senators.

*Sens are off to a 1-0 lead on a power play goal. A bad mix up by Steve Mason led to about the easiest goal rookie sensation Mark Stone will ever land.....

*The difference in atmosphere between last week's Penguins/Flyers game and today's game is incredible. This building is EXTREMELY quiet.

*Flyers going on the Power Play...pretty much the only aspect of their game which has been consistent this year...

*The Flyers have been really solid on the offensive zone, outshooting Sens 12-4, but absolutely horrible in their own end with bizarre give-aways...Hammond has been very solid.

Second Period.

*Early second period, Matt Read has tied up the score at 1.

*Sens really need to raise their compete level. 5 shots through nearly half the game...

*A real lack of hits being thrown..the game has a feel of a preseason contest.

*The Sens are playing right into the Flyers hands by not tightening up on them. This is not a good sign for Ottawa.

*The Sens are starting to try and pick up the pressure a bit. Shots are still very one sided..Sens trying to score off of the rush too much. They need to get some pressure in front of Mason. He is too good to hope to beat him this way.

*Sens take the lead on the power play and another misplayed puck by Steve Mason.

* The Senators are definitely a better team when trailing. They are sitting back way too much tonight.

* The Sens have played a much better third period, while the Flyers stopped skating...

* Mark Stone makes it3-1 on a beautiful feed from Voracek.
