Multiple news outlets reported it this afternoon, but the Kings will have three representatives at the All-Star Game in Columbus on January 24th-25th.
Well, four if you count the coaching staff headed by Darryl Sutter.
As far as skaters go though it appears that Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty, and rookie Tanner Pearson will be headed to Ohio.
Fastest skater anyone?
The rookies, who will compete only in the Skills Competition on Jan. 24, are Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau, Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad, Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Pearson, Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg, Ottawa Senators forward Mike Hoffman and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin.
This will be Drew Doughty's third ASG appearance, having participated as a young star in 08-09 and as a senior member the following year.
This will be Kopitar's third appearance as well, having made the team in 2008 and 2011.
Pearson, 22, has 16 points in 41 games this season. That is good enough for fourth amongst all rookies in goals and seventh overall in points. Although he has slumped a little bit since his red hot start, he has been a decent sized contributor in the Kings offense this season.
Congratulations to all the Kings representatives!
