The Montreal Canadiens are spitting mad, and rightly so.
The Habs lost Game 1 in double OT to the Tampa Bay Lightning Friday night at the Bell Center.
Mike Therien and his team are mad that the play wasn't whistled dead before Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov scored 2:06 into the period to give the Bolts the 2-1 win.
Replays revealed Lightning centre Valtteri Filppula was off-side as the Lightning entered the Canadiens' zone.
No call.

— Pete Blackburn (@PeteBlackburn) May 2, 2015Unafraid to speak his mind, Therien said the refs blew the call on the OT GWG. The NHL may well hand Therien a fine for his criticism of the refs. He won't care. He knows that he is correct and the zebras blew the call in an important playoff game.

What more can be said about Patrick Kane?!
His sexy knee drop rip gave Chicago the 2-0 lead in Game 1 on Friday night.
Not bad for a guy with a busted clavicle.
The Hawks defeated the Wild Game 1 by a score of 4-3.
Kane and company jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead. The Wild answered with three of their own to tie the game in the third period.
The Kane goal, and this Teuvo Teravainen GWG add credence to my take that the Hawks are the best team in the NHL right now. They can kill opponents with speed, scoring off the rush, skill, strength in all three zones, smarts, and physicality.
I'm looking forward to a Chicago vs. Anaheim Western Conference Final.
