Sabres, Other Teams Granted Permission To Speak With Talbot (sabres)

Tim Murray said last week that he is looking to add three goalies to his organization. He needs a starter in Rochester. He needs a starter in Buffalo.

Murray has been connected through hockey buzz and rumors to goalies Eddie Lack, Robin Lehner, Craig Anderson, Jonas Hiller, Jakub Markstrom, John Gibson, Annti Niemi and others.

Comes news tonight that Buffalo is getting warmer with NY Rangers backup goalie Cam Talbot.

The New York Rangers appear to be ready to trade away Henrik Lundqvist's backup tender Cam Talbot.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Rangers GM Glen Sather has granted the Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, and San Jose Sharks permission to speak with Talbot.

Teams are curious to ask Talbot how the 27year old Alabama-Huntsville University alum about how he would fit with the club . Teams can also answer questions that Talbot may have about the NHL city. However, money talk is off limits.

For now.

Talbot, a native of nearby Caledonia, Ontario, finished the 2014-15 season with a 21-9-4 record. He sported a 2.21 GAA and a .926 save percentage in his 36 appearances.

Talbot will be paid $1.45 million for next season before becoming UFA in July 2016.
