I am following up rumor I heard today that if there is another team North America in the next World Cup of hockey, players who played on this team North America won't play for North America again, the NHL Will institute a rule stating a Player can only play on team North America once in his career.
I have also heard a rumor that there will be another team North America or team Europe and instead the tournament will consist of six teams only. Canada, USA, Sweden, Finland, Russia and one more team which will be selected by competing in a tournament to qualify for the World Cup of hockey. By having only six teams the tournament can be condensed into a shorter period of time, and there is even talk of two cities close to each other. I have also heard that team team finishing with the worst record of the six teams could be relegated to play in the qualifying tournament the next time around.
What are your thoughts on this? Will it make this tournament better?
