Rookie Domingue Provides Christmas Miracle In Win Over Leafs (Coyotes)

The Leafs and Coyotes played last night and to no ones surprise the Leafs were the better team by a wide margin. This shouldn't surprise anyone because if the Coyotes are playing at all, then they are playing a better team.

It's pretty much the biggest downfall of having the worst team in the league.

The Coyotes, when Martin Hanzal plays, are the worst team. Without him they are an abomination. He missed his seventh game of the season last night and the Coyotes were absolutely brutalized by the Maple Leafs.

But, somehow, they won the game.

Old Shane Doan had himself a bit of a game, scoring twice in 17 seconds and being one of the only Coyotes who posted a positive possession number last night. In times when Doan, Chipchura and Richardson where not on the ice, the Coyotes looked like a bunch of nerds.

The Coyotes won this game for one reason and one reason only: Louis Domingue.

Much like a game earlier in the season when Mike Smith stole one from the Kings, the Coyotes were thoroughly dominated and did not deserve the two points they heisted.

Max Domi got in a fight (sort of) and Grossmann got injured.

Other than that, what's to say?

The Leafs attempted 60 shots to the Coyotes 38.

One game doesn't make a career, but after last night, Domingue gave himself a great chance to earn himself a permanent NHL job.

The rest of the team really needs to take a look in the mirror though, 'cause it isn't a great sign when your best players are a rookie goalie and guy so old that he was in the NHL before some other players on the team were even born.

That crapfest aside, I'd just like to wish a Merry Christmas to everyone who reads this, calls me an idiot online under the protection of an anonymous pseudonym or otherwise participates in this constant monologue of insanity I call a blog.

It's always fun and it's always appreciated. Hope you and your families all have a great holiday.

Love Jimmy
