Reese Heading to Dallas? (Reese)

Former Philadelphia Flyers goaltending coach Jeff Reese may be joining the Dallas Stars soon, according to a report by Elliotte Friedman. One of the most highly respected goalie coaches in the business, Reese resigned from his position with the Flyers on March 6.

Reese, a hard worker and strong communicator, is not one to take credit for the success of the goaltenders with whom he's worked. However, he has established a strong track record both with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia. With the Stars' goaltending situation in a state of flux and Kari Lehtonen coming off a subpar season after several strong ones, Dallas goaltending coach Mike Valley's position was believed to be in jeopardy.

According to Friedman, if Reese joins the Stars organization in some capacity, Valley would still stay with the Stars but move into a player development capacity, working with prospects in the system.

Reese responded to a text message earlier today. However, he did not confirm or deny Friedman's report.
