Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks 5PM Eastern/4PM Central CSN Chicago/Fox Sports Detroit
THE BUZZ
The Blackhawks have had a long (and needed) rest since last playing Thursday night in Boston, when they clearly had no legs. They've also had a couple more practices in which to better assimilate all the new faces.
On the injury front, I have heard (from two sources) since well before the trade deadline that Marian Hossa's lower body injury was worse than originally reported. Hossa is skating (a good sign) and could be back as soon as Wednesday per reports, but I won't be surprised if he isn't either. He is progressing and will be back. I was told last week Marcus Kruger is healed but has "no strength" in his wrist at this point and just needs to continue to work before he gets back on the ice.
