Game Summary
Any game played after a 10-0 win is going come off as a bit disappointing and this game was no exception. The Jackets played pretty well considering the situation. This was a road game, against a strong Western Conference team, on the second night of a back to back. The Jackets also elected to start back-up goalie Curtis McElhinney, in what was his season debut. Taking into account all of this, managing to keep the game close and get it to overtime was impressive.
Josh Anderson scored the lone goal for the Jackets. Boone Jenner did a great job at creating a turnover behind the net. The puck shot right out to Anderson who was alone in the slot.

Anderson has been on fire these last two games. He has three goals and four points over his last two contents. He has been excellent this season providing scoring depth. It’s been especially helpful since a few of the big names up front have yet to find their scoring touch. McElhinney got first of the season and was great. The Jackets were outshot 30 -21 and had just a 41.18% Corsi at 5 on 5. McElhinney stopped 28 of 30 shots including this highway robbery in overtime.

He was the reason the Jackets were able to stay in the game and pick up a point. Sergei Bobrovsky has been rock solid to start the season, but he can’t play every game. If McElhinney can have games like that, the Jackets will have no trouble winning games when Bobrovsky needs a rest.
