This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who has watched the Edmonton Oilers recently, but according to sources there is a strong growing desire for the Edmonton Oilers to extend Cam Talbot....sooner than later.
Anyone who watched last night's game can see why. Last night was the kind of game we have seen over the past few seasons from the Oilers. They looked fantastic early jumping out to a 3-0 lead and then the Winnipeg Jets stormed back out shooting them badly. However Talbot managed to get them to a victory and played out of his mind the rest of the way.
So when a source says to me they are hard at work to extend their goalie, I thoroughly believe it. He should be priority number one.
On Montreal and Johansen...
I am told the Canadiens are very much on the forefront of this, and appear to be willing to give up more than I think the fans would like them to. Stay tuned here for sure.
