Martin Brodeur Retires, Accepts Front Office Job With Blues (Devils)

Arguably the best goaltender in NHL history is calling it a career. At least on the ice, that is.

Martin Brodeur took a recent leave of absence from the St. Louis Blues, and has since decided his playing days have reached their end, as per Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.

Brodeur will step right into a front office job with the Blues, according to Johnston.

The 42-year-old netminder will retire as the winningest goaltender of all-time, having won 691 NHL games.

He also retires having won four Vezina trophy's, three Stanley Cups rings, and two Olympic gold medals. Among his many other feats, he also recorded the most regular season shutouts, most playoff shutouts and most goals scored as a goaltender.

While he's starting his post-hockey career with the Blues, I'd expect to see him back with the Devils in some capacity down the road.
