Toronto Maple Leafs rookies will begin their bid to make the NHL once again in London, ON, as the club announced on Monday that they will participate in the 2016 Rookie Tournament to be held at Budweiser Gardens from Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18.
The Leafs prospects will play against rookies from the Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens during the three-day tournament.
This is the fifth time in the last seven years that Toronto rookies will start the season in the home of the OHL Knights. The tournament shifted to Oshawa in 2011 and did not take place in 2012 due to the NHL lockout, but has in London four years in a row, which is understandable with the close relationship between the two organizations.
2015 fourth overall pick and current CHL playoff scoring leader Mitch Marner and Toronto’s 2016 top pick will be the center of attention in their attempt to make the Leafs.

Toronto fans will be able to purchase the ‘Leafs Nation Package’ which includes all three Leaf games. The package will include all three Toronto games at a savings of up to 12%. Adult packages are $51.00 while Students/Seniors/Kids packages are $39.00.
Tickets packages will go on sale this Friday at 10am at the Budweiser Gardens box office or www.budweisergardens.com.
