Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri's season ends on a suspension.
Kadri cannot appeal this suspension, therefore, his season is over.
A well earned suspension, I might add.
Kadri was suspended for four games last season for a high hit that he leveled on an opponent.
This suspension has nothing to do with Kadri's diving/embellishment infractions that saw him fined $5,000 on Friday afternoon.
Kadri has now forfeited $396,078 in salary for three NHL suspensions, two diving fines and one throat-slash gesture penalty.
That's a mortgage on a nice house in the suburbs that Kadri has sent over to the NHL.
I have to think that Mike Babcock isn't thrilled with Kadri right now. Is that the kind of veteran leadership that Babcock wants youngsters like Gardiner, Rielly, Nylander and the like to be witnessing?
Kadri will be RFA on July 1.
Will the Leafs be looking to re-sign Kadri or will they look at trading him for assets to rebuild with?
