There's not staked Chevy this offseason as Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff continued taking care of business by signing to your RFA forwards.
Joel Armia who was acquired in the Evander Kane/Zachary Bogosian blockbuster and drafted in the first round of the 2011 draft recieved at 2 year deal with an AAV of 925,000. Adam Lowry a second round pick recieved at similar 2 year deal but at an AAV of 1.125 million.
Lowry had a promising rookie season in 14-15 but had challenged last year and spent some time on the Manitoba Moose in the AHL to help 'find' his game. Armia never seemed able to crack the roster in Buffalo but last season and injuries felled the Jets he put in 43 games and made an impression on fans and coaches. However neither player should be seen as guaranteed minutes or positions, they are simply solid depth moves to add youth and skill to a bottom six that has never really been a competent group since Atlanta moved to Winnipeg.
So almost all the business has been done for the Jets and that leaves one big item: Jacob Trouba. Expect this to take time and if rumours are true about him 'not wanting to be in Winnipeg' also expect trade rumours to heat up as summer drags on.
