The Buffalo Sabres need to turn their attention to other coaching candidates after losing out on Mike Babcock.

Todd Cordell I think Disco Dan Bylsma could be a good fit for the Sabres.
He's always come off as a good communicator, which is as important as ever in today's NHL.
His teams play a fast, up-tempo style and I think that would mesh well with some of the personnel Buffalo has.
They have good speed/skill up front in Evander Kane, Jack Eichel, Tyler Ennis and co. and on the back end they have plenty of good, young puck-movers who can drive play up ice and push the pace.
Sure Bylsma had a lot of star power to work with Pittsburgh, which certainly factored into his success, but he also did a good job getting contributions out of lesser depth players who were likely playing over their heads.
Not to mention Eichel, Kane and Sam Reinhart could all very easily turn into star players, and Bylsma has plenty of experience dealing with top-end talent.
He's not perfect - nobody is - but I think Bylsma would be a nice fit with the Sabres and I doubt they'd have to break the bank to get him.
Matt Henderson They're trying to get a name guy so I don't think they WILL go after my candidate, but they aren't going to be winning squat for a couple years anyway so they SHOULD go after my candidate. I suggest the Sabres inquire about former Edmonton Oilers Interim Coach Todd Nelson. For those who don't follow the Oilers closely, he did a fantastic job turning around the Oilers and their best young players after they turfed Eakins. His Power Play was among the best in league by efficiency and by underlying numbers and that has been his calling card for years in the AHL too. He has lots of experience dealing with young developing players and winning with them. The Sabres want a sexy pick, but they could do a lot worse than hiring Todd Nelson as they transition from the Tank back to Respectability.
