Hotstove: Which Series Are You Most Excited about? (Blues)

Todd Cordell

One series that isn't getting much hype but will be excellent and very close, in my opinion, is the Capitals vs Flyers.

The Caps kind of stumbled down the stretch, by their standards, while the Flyers have been playing playoff hockey for months and faring very well at doing so.

Both teams are very good skating teams and play with great pace so I'm expecting a lot of action. With Braden Holtby and Steve Mason between the pipes the goaltending should be very good, too.

It may not be the sexiest series but there's a lot of star power involved and I think it has the potential to be very, very exciting.

Jason Lewis Chicago - St. Louis is one I'm really looking forward to strictly for the rivalry sense of it.

The other one I am looking forward to, surprisingly, is the Florida - NYI one. I'm really interested to see how Florida handles the playoffs, and how that young roster continues to grow. They've done well this year and they have a good chance at a fairly deep run given the way things are lining up.

San Jose/LA will be good as well, actually so will NYR/Pitt. And Philly/Washington.

Can we just say all of them?

John Jaeckel Actually, I'm looking for to Dallas and Minnesota. Speed and more speed. Minnesota also has been blazing hot overall since replacing Yeo with Torchetti. A dangerous team is going down in this series.

James Tanner To me, the two best are LA vs San Jose and St.Louis vs Chicago.

These are great series because they feature, arguably, four of the top teams in hockey is first round series that, under other circumstances, could have been a worthy Cup Final.

The first round always seems to be the best round and this year looks to be no exception. I guess the seeding could have been done better because it's kind of lame that two of these four teams are guaranteed to be eliminated after round one, but the hockey should still be fantastic.
